About our candle warmer lamps
Quick answer: what is a candle warmer lamp?
A candle warmer lamp is an electric, flameless lamp that uses heat from an overhead halogen bulb to warm a scented jar candle from the top down. The softened wax releases its fragrance into the room without the wick being lit, so there is no flame, smoke or soot. Most use a 35 to 50 W GU10 bulb, cost roughly 5p for four hours to run, and many have a dimmer or timer. Lamps here start from £32.99.

129 lamps, all doing the same simple job: a warm bulb above the candle melts the top layer of wax so the fragrance fills the room, with no flame, no smoke and no soot up the jar, just a soft, warm lamp glow. A candle warmer lamp with timer and dimmer is the norm here, and many arrive gift-boxed — one of the most-loved gifts for mum, a candle warmer lamp gift for women and Christmas gifts for candle lovers. Free UK delivery over £50.
Not sure which one?
The three things that decide it are the height of your candle (a height adjustable candle warmer lamp copes with most jars), the metal already in your room, and whether you want the lamp to be looked at or to disappear. Read the candle warmer lamp buying guide on our home page, or tell us what you burn and where it will stand and we will point you at the right one honestly — including telling you when the cheapest lamp in the range is the one you want.
Buying a candle warmer lamp as a gift
For a gift for mum, a candle warmer lamp birthday gift or a Christmas gift for her, choose a lamp with a timer and a tall clearance so it fits the candles she already loves. Gold, amber and flower-shaped glass suit warm, traditional homes; matt black and clear glass suit modern rooms and make good gifts for him too. Add one of our soft scented candles — vanilla, lavender, fresh linen or rose — for a complete present she will use every evening.
